The roll in nutshells

Tech One Global Lanka Pvt Ltd. is seeking a Solutions Architect – AI Business Solutions to drive the technical pre-sales function within our Modern Work practice. This role combines deep Microsoft 365 platform expertise with the ability to position AI-driven productivity capabilities making it central for strategic new customer acquisitions, competitive wins, and M365 platform expansion engagements. You will own the technical pre-sales cycle for complex M365 opportunities spanning new greenfield deployments, migrations from competing platforms, and brownfield modernization while layering Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI capabilities into solution conversations to drive differentiation and business value.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Trusted Advisor & Senior Customer Engagement: Lead strategic M365 solution conversations with IT Directors, CIOs, and business decision makers across new acquisition, migration, and modernization opportunities. Assess customer environments, productivity maturity, and compliance obligations, and translate these into prioritized Microsoft 365 architectures aligned to business outcomes to build long-term customer relationships.
  • End-to-End Pre-Sales Ownership: Own the full technical pre-sales lifecycle for Modern Work opportunities, from qualification and discovery through to environment assessments, solution architecture design, PoC delivery, scope statements, effort estimation, licensing advisory, and commercial proposal. Confidently handle technical objections, competitive displacement scenarios, and multi-stakeholder engagements without requiring escalation.
  • M365 Core Platform Architecture & Migration: Design end-to-end Microsoft 365 solutions covering the full core platform stack: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams (including Teams Phone and Direct Routing), and cross-workload governance. Build technical strategy for migration engagements including but not limited to Google Workspace to M365, Lotus Notes, and on-premises Exchange and SharePoint migrations etc. with a strong focus on competition wins and greenfield deployments. Develop phased migration roadmaps, cutover strategies, and hybrid coexistence designs that minimize business disruption and maximize adoption.
  • Identity, Access & Endpoint Management Design and position solutions spanning Microsoft Entra ID including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, Identity Protection, SSO/federation, and hybrid identity alongside Microsoft Intune for device compliance, app management, and Autopilot deployment. Ensure identity and endpoint architecture is foundational to every M365 solution design, establishing secure, manageable environments that scale with the customer’s growth and evolving compliance requirements.
  • Compliance, Governance & Information Protection Architect Microsoft Purview-based solutions covering information protection strategy, sensitivity label taxonomy, DLP policy design, retention and records management, eDiscovery, and Insider Risk Management. Position compliance and governance capabilities as business enablers, particularly in regulated industries and advise customers on how Microsoft 365 compliance capabilities address their data governance, audit, and regulatory obligations.
  • AI & Copilot Business Value Positioning: Layer Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Chat capabilities into solution conversations where relevant to assist customers understand how AI extends the value of their core M365 investment. Conduct Copilot readiness assessments covering licensing prerequisites, data governance posture, and adoption readiness. Position AI capabilities as a natural progression of a well-governed M365 platform, to drive differentiation in competitive scenarios.
  • Partner & Ecosystem Engagement: Engage with Microsoft field teams, Modern Work specialists, and program stakeholders across FastTrack, Jumpstart, co-sell, and PSA motions. Participate Microsoft Executive Briefings, partner QBRs, and joint customer engagements. Leverage Microsoft partner program resources including funding, FastTrack benefits, and co-sell support to accelerate deal velocity and improve customer outcomes.
  • Practice Leadership & IP Development: Drive the development of Modern Work pre-sales capability including migration playbooks, readiness assessment frameworks, competitive displacement tools, solution templates, and demo environments. Mentor Solutions Engineers and junior Architects on M365 solution design, customer engagement standards, and pre-sales discipline. Serve as the internal escalation point for complex M365 architecture decisions across pre-sales and delivery.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or related field
  • 5+ years in a solutions architecture, senior technical consulting, or pre-sales role within a Microsoft partner or enterprise IT environment, with a demonstrable track record of owning complex M365 opportunities end-to-end
  • Deep, hands-on technical expertise across the following M365 workloads:
    • Exchange Online: hybrid coexistence, advanced mail flow, multi-domain configurations, inbound/outbound connectors, mail routing architecture, and migration from on-premises Exchange, T2T, Google Workspace, and third-party platforms
    • SharePoint Online & OneDrive: information architecture design, governance frameworks, hub site strategy, migration from on-premises SharePoint and third-party file platforms, and content lifecycle management
    • Microsoft Teams: Teams Phone and Direct Routing architecture, operator connect, governance policy design, meeting room solutions, and large-scale Teams deployment and adoption strategy
    • Microsoft Entra ID: advanced Conditional Access policy design, risk-based authentication, PIM and PAW strategy, Identity Protection, SSO/SAML/OIDC federation, and hybrid identity architecture
    • Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Management: device compliance policy design, application management, Windows Autopilot, co-management with Configuration Manager, and platform-specific MDM profiles across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
    • Microsoft Purview: sensitivity label taxonomy design, auto-labelling, DLP policy design across M365 and endpoints, retention and records management, eDiscovery, Insider Risk Management, and Compliance Manager posture assessment
    • Microsoft 365 Copilot: Copilot readiness assessment (licensing, semantic index, data governance prerequisites), deployment planning, and business value framing across M365 workloads
  • Strong executive presence with ability to drive complex, multi-stakeholder pre-sales engagements and build credibility with IT leadership and C-suite contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to produce executive-level architecture documentation, migration roadmaps, licensing advisory outputs, and commercially viable proposal content
  • Exposure to on-premises technologies including Active Directory, Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, and legacy collaboration platforms

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Microsoft certifications: MS-102, MS-700, SC-300, MD-102 (all strongly preferred at this level); MS-900, SC-400, and AI-900 or Copilot-related credentials are a plus
  • Experience operating at a senior level within a Microsoft MSP/LSP environment, managing concurrent multi-customer engagements and contributing to practice-level decisions
  • Deep familiarity with Microsoft 365 licensing constructs on E3/E5, frontline worker SKUs, Copilot add-ons, CSP commercial structures, and license optimization advisory to enable confident licensing conversations during pre-sales
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft security fundamentals relevant to M365, including Defender for Office 365, basic Entra ID security posture, and M365 compliance center
