Role Overview:

As the Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for the preparation, verification, accounting, analysis and reporting of financial documents, including BIR tax compliance. Ensures that these are always prepared in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures and accounting standards. You will also monitor and direct the Junior Accounting Staff in completion of the daily, weekly and monthly reports that will assist in various management decision-making processes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Ensures the timely and accurate preparation of weekly business review, monthly and annual financial reports to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepares the month-end closing journal entries, reports, schedules and other deliverables in an accurate, complete and timely manner with the assistance of the Junior Accounting Staff.
  • Facilitates the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Develops revenue projections and forecasting expenditures for optimization of strategies and operations.
  • Responsible in the preparation and timely collation of all required documents or schedules needed in an internal, tax or external audit engagement of the Company.
  • Provides guidance and support to the Junior Accounting Staff in the compliance and completion of various reports, schedules and analyses required during external or internal audit engagements.
  • Ensures the company is compliant with BIR through correct computation and monthly, quarterly, annual submission and payment of tax returns (e.g., VAT, EWHT, WHTC, FWHT, ITR, etc.) through eFPS, and timely submission of Alphalist via eSubmission.
  • Oversees the composition of BPO invoice post checking production reports, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Designs and implements process workflows, controls and system set-up in accordance with the operational requirements of the company without compromising the standard accounting principles, taxation regulations and sound internal control practices.
  • Revisits or suggests any enhancement of new or amended accounting systems programs and procedures.
  • Validates the regular and IP payroll, final pay and 13th month pay, and including calculation of sales commissions.
  • Manages annual payment and renewal of business registration, mayor’s permit and other permits and licenses.
  • Proactive in identifying issues and providing resolution for the audit findings, account discrepancies, and non-compliance with the regulatory agencies.
  • Preparation of, and ad-hoc functions and reports upon request of management.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. 
  • Five (5) year work experience as a general accountant or tax professional.
  • Your knowledge of local tax laws, GAAP, financial planning and forecasting, budgeting, audit, and payroll computation.
  • Your ability to generate simple and advanced reports, analyses and schedules through Microsoft tools and accounting systems such as Business Central. 
  • Your strong financial analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • Your ability to communicate effectively with your team and cross-functional members; your confidence in communicating with global resources, and external stakeholders (local government units, clients, banks, suppliers, etc.).
  • Your ability to confidently discuss financial reports or audit, and control issues across management levels.
  • Your ability to manage junior accounting staff in the compliance of the assigned daily tasks and reports.
  • Your strong attention to details, a team player and shows outstanding degree of initiative.
  • Your strong regard to work ethical standards and integrity.
