The role in a nutshell:

The Solution Sales Professional is responsible for driving revenue growth, customer engagement, and adoption of Microsoft Cloud solutions portfolios. This role guides organizations through digital transformation journeys—covering cloud infrastructure, workplace modernization, data innovation, analytics, AI, and productivity solutions. 

The Solution Sales Professional is expected to engage C‑suite stakeholders, lead consultative sales motions, build strong account strategies, collaborate with internal and partner teams, and ensure customers realize business value through technology. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Strategy, Growth & Solutions Enablement 

  • Build go-to-market strategies and execute demand-gen activities in partnership with Microsoft. 
  • Achieve or exceed assigned monthly sales targets, usage metrics, and co-sell goals. 
  • Guide clients in accessing Microsoft funding programs to accelerate POCs and deployments. 
  • Take the primary role in driving and landing new customers. 
  • Play a shadow role in engagements to identify, nurture and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities. 
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments (SPIN methodology) to understand customer requirements and tailor solutions accordingly. 
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and operational rigor. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Microsoft‑based technology platforms to shape product direction & positioning on all or any of the below areas: 
    • Microsoft Azure, security, networking 
    • Data analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Open AI 
    • Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Modern Work, Copilot 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by guiding them on all or any of the following solutions area: cloud modernization, security fundamentals, workplace transformation, and AI readiness. 

Customer Engagement & Solution Enablement 

  • Building and maintaining relationships with C-level executives. 
  • Deliver compelling demos, presentations, and solution walkthroughs to prospective clients.  
  • Support customers in accessing and utilizing Microsoft program funds effectively.   

Collaboration & Internal Alignment 

  • Work closely with internal teams, including Technical Specialists, Account Managers, Sales Operations Team to ensure seamless solution delivery. 
  • Collaborate with Microsoft and other partners to stay informed about the latest with offerings, solution roadmaps, and sales motions. 

Market Insight, Reporting & Governance 

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. 
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system.  
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market feedback.  
  • Track evolving customer priorities and provide actionable insights to leadership. 

Educational Qualifications & Experience Expected  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in technology-related sales, account management, or solutions selling. 
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and win complex deals. 
  • Microsoft Certifications will be an added advantage. 

Skill Expected

  • Consultative Selling, Strategic Thinking & negotiation skills. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
