PowerPoint has been around since Windows 3 (that’s almost three decades ago!), but few knows about the not-so-hidden, basic features that can up your presentation game. This blog series will present tools/tips/tutorials on how you can maximize PowerPoint’s full potential. For today we will talk about something basic albeit magical: the B and W key.
TIP #1: Harness the power of B and W
As you go along your presentation, there will be times when you just want the audience’s full attention all to yourself. But you can’t prevent their eyes from looking at the slides. search engine optimize This is where the keyboard’s letter B and/or W come to the rescue.
Hitting the B key sends the screen to a complete black out, while the W key makes a white out. Hitting any key or clicking with the mouse gets back to the slides. This is a good technique to move the audience’s attention from the slides to you — even if the slide presentation is full of notes, animation, video, or other distracting elements.
With a press of a single button, you have your audience all to yourself. Go find a PowerPoint file in your documents and try pressing B and/or W while in presentation mode.
Always remember that no matter how mind-blowing your PowerPoint is, at the end of the day, it’s just a tool. The presenter still has the key if the overall presentation will be successful or not.
