The role in a nutshell:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Microsoft Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing data solutions using Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server, Azure, and other relevant tools. The Microsoft Data Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust and scalable data architectures to support the organization’s data needs.
What you will do in this role:
- Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure services.
- Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with business requirements.
- Develop and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory.
- Implement data integration and transformation solutions to consolidate data from various sources.
- Design and implement logical and physical data models to support business requirements.
- Optimize data models for performance and scalability.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of database systems and ETL processes.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in data processing pipelines.
- Implement and enforce data quality standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Work with business analysts and data scientists to address data quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
- Work closely with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures, ETL processes, and data dictionaries.
- Provide documentation for troubleshooting and support purposes.
- Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and evolving data regulations.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in data Engineering using Microsoft products and services.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and Azure services.
- Strong T-SQL programming skills and experience with stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Certifications in Microsoft Data and Azure technologies.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Azure Databricks, HDInsight).
- Knowledge of data streaming and real-time processing.
